Review by Ginger Mayerson What they say about: NOCTURNE (Funeral Oils) What I thought: Violently Violet! When I was a little girl in the 60s, there was a line of dolls based on scents: Rose, Jasmine, Honeysuckle (I think), and Violet. The dolls came in plastic perfume shaped cases and the Violet doll, in her purple case and purple draperies, scented with violet. Back in the present, my boss thought this perfume would be good for a little girl, perhaps one under 12. Violet is a very sweet scent, add a little lilac and tuberose and you have sweet squared. There is a metallic undertone to this fragrance, which is probably the tuberose. I switched from wearing tuberose to essential oil of rose a few years ago because of that. I like violet, but I like it better as a sachet than a perfume. "Nocturne" is way too sweet for me, even as a change of pace, but I do think it would be cute on a little girl.
