Not only in Yuichi the most mysterious, sought-after guy at school, he's got an excellent shot at getting into any prestigious University...and no one knows this better than his secret love, Wataru. But instead of a vacation break spent celebrating beneath the fragrant sway of summer blossoms, both boys must surrender to Yuichi's grueling study schedule. How can they possibly sweeten the deal? A bet that promises to take their young relationship to the next level is in the works, but Wataru complicates matters when the very ring that symbolizes their precious bond goes missing. Prying girls and wisecracking best friends only fuel the flames of gossip, and soon the small white lies that were only meant to protect the heart of Wataru's beloved become poison arrows. With the test and their relationship on the line, can the boys hold on long enough to survive the sticky meltdown of their longest summer. Tender longing and young curiosity unite in The Lonely Ring Finger. Follow the cycle of a teasing friendship that takes a serious turn and spirals into an intense romance. The ring on each boy's finger is a symbol of two hearts that beat together despite the prying eyes of classmates... and this is one couple who must weather a storm of scrutiny to discover if their love is truly meant to last. Posted by Ginger Mayerson Replies: 2 comments Hey, this is a returning reviewer (who also commented on your OtRFK manga review) ^_^ I will tell you this much. The novel is SO worth it, and it clearly shows how thoroughly the manga followed the first story. It's almost a mirror image, only in text. The story that follows "The Lonely Ring Finger" most certainly brings their relationship to the next level in a very very reasonable progress. I guess that's another reason why the series itself is so beautiful... what goes on between Kazuki and Wataru is actually /believable/ (which is really hard to nail down in yaoi stories sometimes). It's also packed with few more pages of Odagiri Hotaru's elegant artwork too! This novel is a high-recommend for any collectors~ Posted by Sachiko @ 03/19/2006 01:06 PM PST Oh. My. God. It was SO worth it. Too wonderful. There's two novels, the one that the manga is based on and then next one, which has annoying moments, but is totally wonderful. Can't wait for the next one. Hooked like a bass again. Oh well. To sum up: If you liked the manga you'll love the novels! Thank you, DMP books! Thank you! Off to reread the juicy parts. Woof!
