Review by Lynn Loper This is a sweet story. Less sex than the usual Torquere offering, but there’s enough in the story to keep you interested anyway. James lives alone, or tries to, while he works on his book. But he gets dumped by his boyfriend, and his sister shows up with luggage after another fight with the father who threw James out long ago, and his best friend is always around trying to deepen the relationship, and meanwhile, there’s this absolutely gorgeous guy he meets – The thing is, everything works out. Nobody gets hurt badly in this story. Relationships grow, rearrange, and are salvaged. Everything is handled with as much human kindness as possible. Happy ending? Absolutely, without being sticky. This strikes me as a great beach book. It will keep you interested, but not so absorbed that you forget the water and the sunscreen and sit and fry. Print it out, take it with you, read about the fungus.
