Review by Kris

The next volume of S is upon us.

Shiiba is an information gathering machine thanks to his S, Keigo Munechika. Of course, the only way he's able to get this information is by sleeping with him. Because of his successes he is looked highly upon by his superiors, and mocked by his fellow detectives.

Shiiba's next assignment is to work with fellow officer Nagakura. Nagakura has infiltrated the Yakuza and will be initiated into the gang soon. Because he is so deep undercover, he won't be able to keep much contact with his S. Nagakura's S is the lover of the leader of a huge gang in Tokyo. This gang is also trying to fend off an all out street war. When the leader of this organization ends up dead Shiiba takes up the case and does what he can to protect Mao, the lover and the S. Will the murder be solved? What does Nagakura have to do with all of this?

I know the above summary sucks but I don't want to spoil any of the story. I loved the first novel but S vol. 2: A Love Bite I LOVED! The story had me hooked from the first page. I actually read this volume before I read S vol. 1. I was able to keep the story straight thanks to the brief recaps in the story. Each character this time around is solid and interesting and Munechika shows why he's a Yakuza. You also have the opportunity to see a different side of Shiiba. He gets sexier every time. The illustrations are gorgeous, but the cover sheet is nothing like the last volume (excuse me while I blush just thinking about it). So far reading this series has been well worth my time. I am looking forward to the next two volumes to see what happens. It's so intense I don't know if I'll be able to wait!
