This is a hot off the press copy that I had received from Yuri Con/ALC Publishing table at Otakon 2008’s dealer room. Just for a little background, ALC Publishing was founded, with the intent of publishing English translations of Yuri love, and they did with Eriko Tadeno Works. The book itself is a collection of four sexy short stories with three couples. The third couple’s story actually covers two stories.
In My Sister’s Wedding, Emi is obligated to go to her younger sister’s wedding. She dreads it since her mother and aunts harass her for being 30 and seemingly single. What they don’t know is that Emi has an older female lover- Takako-san.
I Like You The Way You Are features the second couple, Suzu and Misato. They are former high school classmates, and are now working as actresses. During the filming of a scene, Suzu is reminded of a past that she thought that she had forgotten about.
The last couple, and as I mention are featured in two stories: My Sweet One and Gentle Loving. Togawa Mizuho is a department manager who appears professional, and serious. Away from the work area though, she has a fascination with girlish feminine dresses, and cute items. She takes under her wing Enomoto Yuka, the company’s newest employee, and their relationship sparks. In the following chapter, Mizuho and Yuka’s relationship is in question, after miscommunication occurs.
The stories were separated by several author notes, and I imagine Eriko Tadeno Works must be a work that was originally targeted for mid-twenties or early thirties to read. I wonder what type of market is this book going to interest yuri readers? There were many older woman paired with younger woman. Quite nice, it reminded me of the various bl-stories I have read where there is the sensitive older lover with the more passionate younger partner.
