Kohei only had one person that he ever cared for in his life:  his younger sister, Chieko.  When she gets married and leaves the house, he is comedically angry; when she dies in a car accident, he is heartbroken.  He is not alone, however, as he shares his pain with with his brother-in-law, Shingo.  Despite Kohei's high strung personality, despite the fact that Shingo was the one that stole Chieko away from him, the two get along quite well together.  Shingo has an easy-going personality, able to take all of Kohei's yelling with a smile on his face.  So it is that even when Shingo confesses and Kohei doesn't reciprocate, they still spend their time together comfortably. Millennium Darling 2006
Story and art by Maki Naruto
Published by Juné, imprint of Digital Manga, Inc.
ISBN-10:  1569700311
ISBN-13:  9781569700310

Review by Jilly Gee

The sequel to the seven-volume Millennium Darling series (probably more recognizable as Seikimatsu Darling and more so for its OVA), the many couples of Millennium Darling 2006 are already established and being put through ridiculously funny scenarios, some of which are implausible and meant only as jokes.  The title couple for this graphic novel, Sakamoto and Sentarou, are the ones given the most attention while all other couples have it short, sweet, and silly.  Although the title couple get more attention story-wise, they are not treated too differently, their stories also sweet and silly. Nanami Takahashi (throughout the rest of the book she's known as Nana) has just started high school. Her goal is to be uber friendly and make lots of new friends. She starts off with her neighbor Yuri Yamamoto, but Yamamoto doesn't seem to be too friendly. After making a few new friends she hears the girls talking about a guy named Motoharu Yano. He was very popular in middle school and his popularity with the ladies seems to have transferred to high school.

Nana is a bit flighty. She went to nominate one of her new friends as the class president and forgot her name. She stopped to ask someone in her class what her name was. The person who she stopped happened to be Yano. He gave her the wrong name and Nana ended up embarrassing herself in front of her classmates. From that moment Nana and Yano's crazy relationship began. [more]

PIGS IN SPAAAAAAAAAACE!

For those of you who grew up in homes without televisions, or those who are just too young, Pigs in Space was a bit on The Muppet Show. In my house The Muppet Show was not to be missed. I even watched it while it was in syndication. Jim Henson is looked upon like a God at my house. You're probably wondering "Why on Earth is she bringing up The Muppet Show while reviewing a book that has nothing to do with Jim Henson, the Muppets, etc?" Well, as you can see by the cover of Pinky and Stinky, they truly are Pigs in Space! [more]

Review by Linda Yau

After months and months of getting overwhelm, I finally have some time to write reviews for the remaining e-books I have. I still do have some more reviews to complete. So, Toybox Flogger is a collection of short stories, dealing with flogging. There is a definition of flogging as a multi-tongue whipping tool for a fetish, and usually featured in BDSM stories. Review by Jilly Gee

For a long time Maya had believed there was nothing better than life on the open ocean, sailing from port to port on the warm trade winds that blew across the Atlantic Ocean.

Maya used to love her life on the Pamela Jane, the boat her family calls home.  Her parents, marine biologists, would show their children things other children could only ever imagine, such as the barnacled side of a whale, and teach their children things other children did not learn on land, such as how to rig a fifty-two-foot schooner.  As a restless thirteen-year-old, however, Maya is not content with this lifestyle anymore; she wants to live with Granny Pearl on stable land and go to school with other kids her age and form friendships not limited to her nine-year-old brother, Simon, or eight-month-old sister, Penny.  When an unusual storm separates the three children from their parents, though, Maya finds herself longing for those days on the Pamela Jane.  Mami and Papi nowhere in sight, the children leave the boat and wander around on the strange island the Pamela Jane has come to. Review by I-hsiu Lin

After one night of drunkedness, Kazuto Haruna finds himself in bed with Akihiko Takasugi. Naked. Although he didn't remember anything of the previous night, Akihiko reminds him, "I've bought one month of your time for 1,000,000 yen." One would think in a boys love manga, the one month would be filled with hot, steamy guy on guy action....but you’ll be surprised what actually goes on. Kazuto himself was unsure of this arrangement, but soon, their time together drew certain feelings from his heart. [more]

Review by Kris
This is one yaoi novel series that has completely captivated me and leaves me wanting and waiting desperately for the next installment in the series. If you are interested in my reviews for S vol. 1 and S vol. 2: A Love Bite, feel free to click on the links.

Masaki Shiiba is a member of the elite COC5 group in the police force. His group is responsible for finding illegal firearms. Because they sometimes work outside the law, they have to create trusting networks of informants or "S" (you know, spy) to gather information from. One of Shiiba's informants is a yakuza by the name of Keigo Munechika. Since Munechika is not hurting for money the way Shiiba gets his info from Munechika is by using his body. But it seems as though Shiiba's feelings for Munechika are much deeper than detective and S. He's fallen, and fallen hard, for Munechika. [more]

Tomoki Naruse has the most vivid wet dreams. Not only does he feel amazing in his dreams, but those feelings seem to linger, literally. Nightly he waits in a fragrant field of flowers for his lover. He doesn't know their name. He doesn't know what they look like. One thing he does know, this lover isn't a chick. He enjoys the sex, nonetheless.

Tomoki is a high school student. He's kind of small, but he's quite feisty. He seems to be drawn to new student, Yuugo Oda. There is something mysterious about Yuugo. He seems to know quite a bit about Tomoki. The two become close friends and soon the feelings Tomoki has for Yuugo are much more complicated. It turns out that Tomoki and Yuugo are Dark Walkers. Dark Walkers are humans born with the ability to enter the dream realm called "The Depths of Dreams" while still aware of their consciousness. [more]

Review by Kris

Toya Sakurai is content with his life. He has a beautiful fiancée and a highly coveted job with a publishing company. He is happy with the way his life has turned out so far. Yet, he seems to be far more passionate than he is even aware of. He has recently been transferred to the mysteries division, which he is ecstatic about. He specifically took the job with the publisher who worked with famed mystery author Kai Hodaka. He has loved reading books written by Hodaka and would love to be able to read his work before anyone else.

Hodaka won a prestigious award and to celebrate the publisher is throwing a party in his honor. Toya is so excited to possibly have the honor of meeting the author he has idolized for years. After an embarrassing run in with Hodaka at the party Toya feels he is doomed for eternity in the eyes of his hero. The next day at work he is in for a surprise. It looks as though he made a memorable impression on Hodaka, and they are assigning Toya to be his editor. He is known to be a bit tough on editors, but Toya is a professional and will do all he can to please both the company and Hodaka. [more]
